TRAKS has donated RM30,000 to plant 500 trees in our own 1 hectare plot(H4) in Kiara and therefore helping transform Kiara from rubber trees to a forest park. The donation drive by the KLMBH, PCC and MyGravity ran over six months. A special thank you to Mr Toh Hoon Chew, Datacom and Mike Tighe who are our top three donors. In the tradition of our monthly trail maintenance days, the tree planting event held on Saturday morning 22 August was a low key affair with our avid members and donors congregating at the 4 way junction of Bukit Kiara before proceeding to the site to plant 50 of our trees. We would like to express our thanks to Mr Tee Yew Fook and the Jabatan Landscape Negara who organised and coordinated this event.

At the behest of Datin Sri Jeanne Abdullah, the National Landscape and DBKL called for a dialogue session yesterday morning at Bangunan Bakti with the FoBK to brief us on her plan to re-forest Bukit Kiara. As is usual, the FoBK invited Traks, Gec and TTDI RA to the meeting. This was to be an informal meeting around a coffee table to allow us to respond to her idea. The PM, Dato Fuad who is the mayor of KL and Dato Ismail who is the DG of the National Landscape Department also participated in the dialogue. FoBK was represented by Mr Looi Khooi Cheng & Dr Pola Singh, TTDI RA by Mr Khoo, Mr Lim and Mr Mah, Gec by Dr Kali and TRAKS by yours truly.
